Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, sunflower seed exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 34%. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The third position in this ranking was held by Poland (X tons), with a 7.4% share.

In value terms, Ukraine ($X) constituted the largest supplier of sunflower seed to Slovakia, comprising 55% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Serbia ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Hungary, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Ukraine stood at +57.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Serbia (+52.3% per year) and Hungary (-5.9% per year).

In 2022, the average sunflower seed import price amounted to $X per ton, waning by -5.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 203% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
