In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of television receivers, when their volume decreased by -11.9% to X units. Overall, exports recorded a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 25%. The exports peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, television receiver exports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The UK (X units), Germany (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main destinations of television receiver exports from Slovakia, together accounting for 38% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Italy (with a CAGR of +3.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for television receiver exported from Slovakia were Germany ($X), the UK ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 37% share of total exports. Poland, Spain, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Romania, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 47%.

In 2022, the average television receiver export price amounted to $X per unit, approximately mirroring the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 25%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Slovakia
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of television receivers decreased by -13.6% to X units in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 167% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, television receiver imports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a mild downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 45% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Imports by Country
Hungary (X units), China (X units) and Vietnam (X units) were the main suppliers of television receiver imports to Slovakia, with a combined 76% share of total imports. Thailand, Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Thailand (with a CAGR of +115.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Hungary ($X) constituted the largest supplier of television receivers to Slovakia, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Hungary stood at -4.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+24.0% per year) and Poland (+23.1% per year).

In 2022, the average television receiver import price amounted to $X per unit, leveling off at the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 24% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while the price for Vietnam ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
