Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 101%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, tennis and badminton rackets exports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a measured increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 101% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Hungary (X units), the Czech Republic (X units) and Austria (X units) were the main destinations of tennis and badminton rackets exports from Slovakia, together comprising 80% of total exports. Poland, Germany, Italy and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of +115.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Austria ($X), Hungary ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the largest markets for tennis and badminton rackets exported from Slovakia worldwide, with a combined 85% share of total exports. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of tennis, badminton or similar rackets, when their volume decreased by -47.7% to X units. Overall, imports, however, recorded a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 171% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, tennis and badminton rackets imports declined rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 59%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

China (X units), Italy (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main suppliers of tennis and badminton rackets imports to Slovakia, together comprising 86% of total imports. Poland, Taiwan (Chinese), Vietnam, Germany, Japan and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 8.8%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +46.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of tennis, badminton or similar rackets to Slovakia, comprising 67% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Italy ($X), with a 9.7% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 4% share.
