Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 68%. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Vegetable product imports into Slovakia shrank rapidly to X tons in 2022, dropping by -34.4% on the previous year. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 924%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, vegetable product imports fell modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 836%. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Spain (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of vegetable product to Slovakia, accounting for a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, vegetable product imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hungary (X tons), threefold. Poland (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Spain stood at +54.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hungary (+50.6% per year) and Poland (+32.7% per year).
In value terms, Spain ($X) constituted the largest supplier of vegetable products to Slovakia, comprising 58% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hungary ($X), with a 24% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 4.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Spain amounted to +77.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hungary (+54.0% per year) and Poland (+21.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average vegetable product import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 49% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 55%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while the price for Slovenia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
