The Czech Republic (X units) was the main destination for video game console exports from Slovakia, accounting for a 50% share of total exports. Moreover, video game console exports to the Czech Republic exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hungary (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Poland (X units), with a 6.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the Czech Republic totaled +7.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hungary (+15.3% per year) and Poland (+24.2% per year).

Video game console imports into Slovakia declined sharply to X units in 2022, which is down by -18.1% against the year before. Overall, imports, however, posted a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 182%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, video game console imports fell markedly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed measured growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 84% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Ireland (X units), the UK (X units) and China (X units) were the main suppliers of video game console imports to Slovakia, together accounting for 70% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Ireland (with a CAGR of +238.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
