In value terms, exports of wood pulp, excluding mechanical wood pulp shrank to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 29% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The Czech Republic (X tons), Romania (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of wood pulp, excluding mechanical wood pulp from Slovakia, with a combined 46% share of total exports. Austria, Slovenia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and France lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 50%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +18.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
