The exports peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ceramic sanitary ware exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a precipitous setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 67%. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Croatia (X units) was the main destination for ceramic sanitary ware exports from Slovenia, accounting for a 69% share of total exports. Moreover, ceramic sanitary ware exports to Croatia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X units), sevenfold. Bosnia and Herzegovina (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 5.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Croatia amounted to -9.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (-45.1% per year) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (-16.4% per year).

In value terms, Croatia ($X) remains the key foreign market for ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures exports from Slovenia, comprising 70% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a 5.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Croatia stood at -9.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (-46.1% per year) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (-16.7% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average ceramic sanitary ware export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, leveling off at the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a mild downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 15%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Austria ($X per unit) and France ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per unit) and Germany ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures decreased by -7.1% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports showed a mild decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ceramic sanitary ware imports contracted to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Imports by Country

Italy (X units), Croatia (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of ceramic sanitary ware imports to Slovenia, together comprising 92% of total imports. Bulgaria, Turkey, Poland, China, Romania, the Czech Republic and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 63%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +23.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest ceramic sanitary ware suppliers to Slovenia were Italy ($X), Croatia ($X) and Germany ($X), together comprising 96% of total imports. Bulgaria, Turkey, Poland, China, Romania, the Czech Republic and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 66%.

The average ceramic sanitary ware import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 6.5% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Romania ($X per unit) and Poland ($X per unit), while the price for Turkey ($X per unit) and Italy ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.
