After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of cotton embroidery in the piece decreased by -61.1% to X kg in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 228% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cotton embroidery imports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 104%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, the Netherlands (X kg) constituted the largest supplier of cotton embroidery to Slovenia, with a 28% share of total imports. Moreover, cotton embroidery imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X kg), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Croatia (X kg), with a 13% share.
