Crude Coconut Oil Market Size in Slovenia

The Slovene crude coconut oil market dropped remarkably to $X in 2022, with a decrease of -92.3% against the previous year. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 3,689% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, crude coconut oil exports fell dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 2,020% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for crude coconut oil exports from Slovenia, with a 48% share of total exports. Moreover, crude coconut oil exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belgium (X tons), fourfold. Austria (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany totaled +450.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belgium (-39.9% per year) and Austria (+281.0% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for crude coconut (copra) oil exports from Slovenia, comprising 49% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belgium ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with a 6.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany totaled +462.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belgium (-34.6% per year) and France (+393.8% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average crude coconut oil export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, falling by -12.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 45%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Romania ($X per ton) and France ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($X per ton) and Austria ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Slovenia

In 2022, purchases abroad of crude coconut (copra) oil decreased by -24.2% to X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a four-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 234% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

In value terms, crude coconut oil imports reduced notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 128%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined sharply in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Sri Lanka (X tons) constituted the largest crude coconut oil supplier to Slovenia, accounting for a 79% share of total imports. Moreover, crude coconut oil imports from Sri Lanka exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), tenfold. The Philippines (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Sri Lanka totaled +227.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+52.7% per year) and the Philippines (+30.0% per year).

In value terms, Sri Lanka ($X) constituted the largest supplier of crude coconut (copra) oil to Slovenia, comprising 76% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with a 9.1% share of total imports. It was followed by the Philippines, with an 8.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Sri Lanka totaled +175.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+57.3% per year) and the Philippines (+24.0% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average crude coconut oil import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -5.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 74%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from India ($X per ton) and Ghana ($X per ton), while the price for Sri Lanka ($X per ton) and the Philippines ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+68.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
