Overall, exports showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 121% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, exports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with fittings contracted to $X in 2022. In general, exports recorded a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 126% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Serbia (X tons), Croatia (X tons) and Albania (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with fittings from Slovenia, with a combined 82% share of total exports. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +42.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 98%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In general, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.0% over the last decade. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Sweden, with a 9.2% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Italy totaled +5.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+1.9% per year) and Sweden (+62.0% per year).
