In 2022, supplies from abroad of footwear with uppers of textile materials decreased by -44.2% to X pairs for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 59%. Imports peaked at X pairs in 2021, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, imports of footwear with uppers of textile materials reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 47%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.

Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.8%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per pair), while the price for Hungary ($X per pair) was amongst the lowest.
