Over the period under review, imports showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 159%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, methacrylic acid imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports posted a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 127%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In 2022, South Korea (X tons) constituted the largest methacrylic acid supplier to Slovenia, with a 55% share of total imports. Moreover, methacrylic acid imports from South Korea exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), twofold. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 80% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
