Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 237%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, snow motor vehicle imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 212% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

Finland (X units), China (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of snow motor vehicle imports to Slovenia, together comprising 83% of total imports. The United States, Croatia, Taiwan (Chinese), Austria and Canada lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Croatia (with a CAGR of +45.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Finland ($X) constituted the largest supplier of motor vehicles for travelling on snow or golf cars to Slovenia, comprising 77% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United States ($X), with a 6.9% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Finland stood at +44.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+20.8% per year) and China (+24.7% per year).

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 74% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per unit), while the price for Croatia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
