From 2015 to 2022, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, the amount of non-electric furnaces and ovens for the roasting or melting exported from Slovenia soared to X units, picking up by 320% compared with the previous year. Overall, exports, however, saw a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 329%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-electric roasting furnace exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a slight shrinkage. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Italy (X units) was the main destination for non-electric roasting furnace exports from Slovenia, accounting for a 60% share of total exports. Moreover, non-electric roasting furnace exports to Italy exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Russia (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Germany (X units), with an 8.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Italy totaled +70.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (-13.2% per year) and Germany (+37.0% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for non-electric furnaces and ovens for the roasting or melting exports from Slovenia, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Italy ($X), with a 21% share of total exports. It was followed by Turkey, with an 18% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany totaled +157.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+50.3% per year) and Turkey (+13.7% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average non-electric roasting furnace export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, jumping by 179% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw strong growth. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+87.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Slovenia

In value terms, non-electric roasting furnace imports declined remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 316% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and Israel ($X) appeared to be the largest non-electric roasting furnace suppliers to Slovenia, with a combined 93% share of total imports. Spain lagged somewhat behind, accounting for a further 5.1%.

Spain, with a CAGR of +111.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
