In value terms, pulses exports rose modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Croatia (X tons) were the main destinations of pulses exports from Slovenia, with a combined X% share of total exports. Italy, Austria, Serbia and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the third consecutive year, Slovenia recorded growth in overseas purchases of pulses, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a pronounced expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Italy (X tons), Ethiopia (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) were the main suppliers of pulses imports to Slovenia, together comprising X% of total imports. Canada, Croatia, Poland, Egypt, Argentina, Germany, Turkey, Austria, Kyrgyzstan and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
