Production of Raspberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, and Cranberries in Slovenia
In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry production declined modestly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the production volume increased by 151% against the previous year. Raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry production peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.
In 2022, the average yield of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries in Slovenia expanded significantly to X tons per ha, surging by 13% compared with the year before. Overall, the yield, however, saw a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the yield increased by 91% against the previous year. As a result, the yield attained the peak level of X tons per ha. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the average raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry yield remained at a somewhat lower figure. Despite the increased use of modern agricultural techniques and methods, future yield figures may still be impacted by adverse weather conditions.
In 2022, approx. X ha of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries were harvested in Slovenia; with a decrease of -2.9% on the previous year's figure. In general, the harvested area, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the harvested area increased by 56%. The raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry harvested area peaked at X ha in 2021, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

Exports from Slovenia
In 2022, shipments abroad of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries decreased by -75.2% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 752%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports dropped remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 770% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Croatia (X tons) was the main destination for raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports from Slovenia, with a 63% share of total exports. Moreover, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports to Croatia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X tons), threefold. Austria (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Croatia totaled +41.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+27.9% per year) and Austria (+65.9% per year).
In value terms, Croatia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries exports from Slovenia, comprising 60% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Italy ($X), with a 27% share of total exports. It was followed by Austria, with a 3.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Croatia stood at +40.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+29.5% per year) and Austria (+61.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average export price for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 45% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Slovenia
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries decreased by -12% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 125%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry imports declined sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 78% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined sharply in the following year.
Imports by Country
Spain (X tons), Austria (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry imports to Slovenia, together comprising 74% of total imports. Peru, Italy, Chile, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 21%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Peru (with a CAGR of +87.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry suppliers to Slovenia were Spain ($X), Austria ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 70% share of total imports. Italy, Peru, Chile, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.

Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -7.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for Serbia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
