From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, retreaded pneumatic tyre exports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 93% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Bosnia and Herzegovina (X units), Germany (X units) and Montenegro (X units) were the main destinations of retreaded pneumatic tyre exports from Slovenia, together accounting for 76% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Bosnia and Herzegovina (with a CAGR of +36.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for retreaded pneumatic tyre exported from Slovenia were Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X), Montenegro ($X) and Croatia ($X), together accounting for 78% of total exports.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a CAGR of +35.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, retreaded pneumatic tyre export price increased by +68.7% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 93%. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Austria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Slovenia

In 2022, purchases abroad of retreaded pneumatic tyres decreased by -16.5% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. Overall, imports saw a slight decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 83%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, retreaded pneumatic tyre imports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Germany (X units) constituted the largest retreaded pneumatic tyre supplier to Slovenia, accounting for a 68% share of total imports. Moreover, retreaded pneumatic tyre imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Croatia (X units), fourfold. Spain (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Germany was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Croatia (+19.7% per year) and Spain (+1.2% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of retreaded pneumatic tyres to Slovenia, comprising 63% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Croatia ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with an 8.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Germany stood at +2.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Croatia (+16.2% per year) and Italy (+1.1% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average retreaded pneumatic tyre import price amounted to $X per unit, rising by 19% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 27% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while the price for the UK ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
