Hand Stamp Market Size in Slovenia

In 2022, the Slovene hand stamp market increased by 83% to $X for the first time since 2017, thus ending a four-year declining trend. In general, consumption continues to indicate a measured expansion. Over the period under review, the market reached the maximum level at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of stamps for use in the hand, when their volume decreased by -91.1% to X units. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 626%. The exports peaked at X units in 2021, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, hand stamp exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 615% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

Exports by Country

Serbia (X units) was the main destination for hand stamp exports from Slovenia, with a 77% share of total exports. Moreover, hand stamp exports to Serbia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X units), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Hungary (X units), with a 5.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Serbia amounted to +62.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+48.4% per year) and Hungary (+22.0% per year).

In value terms, Serbia ($X) remains the key foreign market for stamps for use in the hand exports from Slovenia, comprising 65% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hungary ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Slovakia, with a 5.2% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Serbia stood at +37.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hungary (-8.2% per year) and Slovakia (0.0% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the average hand stamp export price amounted to $X per unit, rising by 35% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 234% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+50.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Slovenia

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of stamps for use in the hand, when their volume decreased by -16.9% to X units. Overall, imports, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 41%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, hand stamp imports contracted significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a slight expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 76% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest hand stamp supplier to Slovenia, with a 49% share of total imports. Moreover, hand stamp imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Austria (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by the UK (X units), with an 8.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +14.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Austria (-0.6% per year) and the UK (+33.3% per year).

In value terms, the largest hand stamp suppliers to Slovenia were China ($X), Austria ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 76% share of total imports. The UK, Taiwan (Chinese), the Netherlands and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 19%.

Among the main suppliers, the UK, with a CAGR of +32.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average hand stamp import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -19.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 29%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
