In 2022, supplies from abroad of uncoated felt paper and paperboard increased by 36% to X tons, rising for the sixth consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports saw a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 279% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, uncoated felt paper imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed mild growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 210%. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2022, the Czech Republic (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of uncoated felt paper to Slovenia, accounting for a 87% share of total imports. Moreover, uncoated felt paper imports from the Czech Republic exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), more than tenfold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the Czech Republic stood at +73.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-0.5% per year) and Ukraine (0.0% per year).
