Germany (X tons) was the main destination for vegetable puree exports from Slovenia, accounting for a 62% share of total exports. Moreover, vegetable puree exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Austria (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Italy (X tons), with a 5.3% share.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for vegetable puree exports from Slovenia, comprising 66% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Austria ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with an 8.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany stood at +496.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Austria (+141.0% per year) and Italy (+75.0% per year).

In 2022, the average vegetable puree export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 5.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 103% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Slovenia

In 2022, approx. X tons of vegetable puree were imported into Slovenia; falling by -3.4% against the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 49%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, vegetable puree imports shrank dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 34%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

France (X tons), Italy (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of vegetable puree imports to Slovenia, with a combined 61% share of total imports. Croatia, Austria, Germany, North Macedonia and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Croatia (with a CAGR of +95.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, France ($X), Italy ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) appeared to be the largest vegetable puree suppliers to Slovenia, together comprising 66% of total imports. Austria, Croatia, Germany, North Macedonia and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 25%.

In 2022, the average vegetable puree import price amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -22.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a mild reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 30%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then declined notably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while the price for North Macedonia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
