The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 71%. Imports peaked at X cubic meters in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, wood chips and particles imports dropped dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt setback. In 2022, Croatia (X cubic meters) constituted the largest supplier of wood chips and particles to Slovenia, with a 77% share of total imports. Moreover, wood chips and particles imports from Croatia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Austria (X cubic meters), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Italy (X cubic meters), with a 2.2% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Croatia amounted to -2.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Austria (+43.8% per year) and Italy (+108.3% per year).

In value terms, Croatia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of wood chips and particles to Slovenia, comprising 68% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Austria ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a 7.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Croatia totaled -7.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Austria (+20.4% per year) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (+1.0% per year).
