Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, wooden bedroom furniture exports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a modest increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 103% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then shrank notably in the following year.

Austria (X units), Germany (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main destinations of wooden bedroom furniture exports from Slovenia, with a combined 76% share of total exports.

In 2022, purchases abroad of wooden furniture of a kind used in the bedroom decreased by -57.4% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 101%. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, wooden bedroom furniture imports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 71%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

Imports by Country

Poland (X units), Germany (X units) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (X units) were the main suppliers of wooden bedroom furniture imports to Slovenia, with a combined 60% share of total imports. Serbia, Austria, Italy, Turkey, China, Hungary, Croatia and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 31%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +42.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
