These countries were followed by Indonesia, Mauritius, Vietnam and Angola, which together accounted for a further 28%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Angola (with a CAGR of +176.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), Bangladesh ($X) and China ($X) were the largest markets for cotton linters exported from South Africa worldwide, together comprising 72% of total exports. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Mauritius ($X per ton) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($X per ton) and Angola ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
