Kenya (X kg), Mozambique (X kg) and Lesotho (X kg) were the main destinations of azo- or azoxy-compounds exports from South Africa, with a combined 73% share of total exports. Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Zambia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 23%.

Azo- or azoxy-compounds imports into South Africa reduced to X tons in 2022, which is down by -8.7% on the previous year. Over the period under review, imports saw a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 81%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, azo- or azoxy-compounds imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a modest expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 140% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Indonesia (X tons), China (X tons) and Japan (X tons) were the main suppliers of azo- or azoxy-compounds imports to South Africa, together accounting for 78% of total imports. South Korea and France lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 18%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for France (with a CAGR of +0.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.
