Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, non-electric motor handtools imports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 45%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
