The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 45% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Zimbabwe (X units), Namibia (X units) and Zambia (X units) were the main destinations of hydraulic jack exports from South Africa, together comprising 58% of total exports. Mozambique, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho and Democratic Republic of the Congo lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +38.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 55% against the previous year. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 28%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, China (X units) was the main hydraulic jack supplier to South Africa, accounting for a 90% share of total imports. Moreover, hydraulic jack imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Canada (X units), more than tenfold. The UK (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 1.3% share.
