In 2022, exports of medical, surgical or laboratory sterilisers from South Africa soared to X units, jumping by 56% compared with the previous year. In general, exports continue to indicate slight growth. Imports into South Africa

In 2022, the amount of medical, surgical or laboratory sterilisers imported into South Africa plummeted to X units, which is down by -18.1% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 129% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, medical steriliser imports shrank notably to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted a modest increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 118% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X.
