The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 37%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

The UK (X tons), Italy (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-medical x-ray imports to South Africa, together accounting for 58% of total imports. Germany, the United States, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Malaysia and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.
