In value terms, table flatware imports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, China (X tons) was the main table flatware supplier to South Africa, with a 94% share of total imports. It was followed by India (X tons), with a 2.4% share of total imports.
