Zimbabwe (X tons), Lesotho (X tons) and Botswana (X tons) were the main destinations of wheat exports from South Africa, with a combined 55% share of total exports.

Wheat imports into South Africa was estimated at X tons in 2022, growing by 4.6% against the previous year's figure. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
