Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, agricultural forestry machinery imports surged to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +81.5% against 2020 indices. The following importers - the Philippines (X units) and Cambodia (X units) - each accounted for an 8.5% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Myanmar (with a CAGR of +32.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Singapore ($X), Indonesia ($X) and Malaysia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 79% of total imports. Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Cambodia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.

Myanmar, with a CAGR of +32.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per unit, flattening at the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 27% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2019; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Myanmar ($X per unit), while Cambodia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
