In value terms, ammonium sulphate exports amounted to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 130% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Thailand represented the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which finished at 60% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Singapore (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons), together achieving a 38% share of total exports. Malaysia (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

Exports from Thailand increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Singapore (+18.5%), Vietnam (+5.9%) and Indonesia (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Singapore emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +18.5% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Malaysia (-3.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Singapore (+15 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Malaysia (-3.4 p.p.) and Indonesia (-4.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Thailand ($X) remains the largest ammonium sulphate supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 67% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Singapore ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Vietnam, with a 6.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Thailand amounted to +9.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Singapore (+20.5% per year) and Vietnam (+4.5% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 43% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 48%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, ammonium sulphate imports expanded modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a noticeable expansion.
