In value terms, antibiotic imports shrank slightly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 14%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Vietnam (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) were the key importers of antibiotics in South-Eastern Asia, together achieving 62% of total imports. Indonesia (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, distantly followed by the Philippines (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons). All these countries together held near 35% share of total imports. Singapore (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
