The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +23.0% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then fell modestly in the following year.

In value terms, base metal hook imports totaled $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 44% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Indonesia (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) were the major importers of base metal hooks, eyes and eyelets in 2022, accounting for approx. 32% and 26% of total imports, respectively.
