Total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +42.6% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 53%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.6% over the last decade. Lao People's Democratic Republic (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Lao People's Democratic Republic (with a CAGR of +56.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest blood-grouping reagents importing markets in South-Eastern Asia were Thailand ($X), Singapore ($X) and Vietnam ($X), together comprising 67% of total imports. Indonesia, the Philippines, Lao People's Democratic Republic and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.
