In value terms, Malaysia ($X) remains the largest cadmium supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 19% share of total exports.
In Malaysia, cadmium exports decreased by an average annual rate of -17.6% over the period from 2012-2022.

In 2022, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -14.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 48% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, cadmium imports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a precipitous slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 1,354% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Malaysia (X tons) represented the largest importer of cadmium and articles thereof, committing 71% of total imports. Vietnam (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Singapore (X tons). All these countries together held near 26% share of total imports. Indonesia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to cadmium imports into Malaysia stood at -10.8%. At the same time, Vietnam (+30.1%) and Indonesia (+1.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +30.1% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Singapore (-1.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Vietnam (+19 p.p.), Singapore (+3 p.p.) and Indonesia (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Malaysia saw its share reduced by -24.1% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Malaysia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported cadmium and articles thereof in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Singapore ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Indonesia, with a 12% share.
In Malaysia, cadmium imports plunged by an average annual rate of -23.7% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (-16.6% per year) and Indonesia (+4.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -6.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 99%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per ton), while Vietnam ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+2.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
