After three years of decline, overseas shipments of cereal pellets (excluding wheat) increased by 125% to X tons in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by 352% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-wheat cereal pellets exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports posted noticeable growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by 252% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Malaysia (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) prevails in exports structure, together constituting 92% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X tons), committing a 4.7% share of total exports. Singapore (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

The export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 11% against the previous year. Export price indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In general, imports saw a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 93% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-wheat cereal pellets imports declined modestly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 71%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Singapore was the largest importer of cereal pellets (excluding wheat) in South-Eastern Asia, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was near 49% of total imports in 2021. Myanmar (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by the Philippines (X tons). All these countries together held near 46% share of total imports.
