Total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +27.2% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, chicken table egg exports stood at $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 41% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, chicken table egg imports soared to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +100.0% against 2017 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Singapore dominates imports structure, resulting at X tons, which was approx. 97% of total imports in 2022. Timor-Leste (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
