Overall, exports continue to indicate a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 62% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, concentrated apple juice exports contracted markedly to $X in 2021. In general, exports recorded a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 58% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Thailand represented the largest exporter of concentrated apple juice in South-Eastern Asia, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was near 63% of total exports in 2021. Malaysia (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Singapore (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 33% share of total exports. Indonesia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to concentrated apple juice exports from Thailand stood at -10.6%. At the same time, Indonesia (+13.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Indonesia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +13.1% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Singapore (-3.5%) and Malaysia (-8.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Singapore (+3.3 p.p.) and Malaysia (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Thailand (-7.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Thailand ($X) remains the largest concentrated apple juice supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 62% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with a 27% share of total exports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 5.7% share.
In Thailand, concentrated apple juice exports declined by an average annual rate of -10.3% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Malaysia (-8.7% per year) and Singapore (-10.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -3.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the export price increased by 8.5%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per ton), while Singapore ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in South-Eastern Asia
In 2021, the amount of concentrated apple juice imported in South-Eastern Asia shrank slightly to X tons, waning by -4.6% on the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, concentrated apple juice imports expanded notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
The countries with the highest levels of concentrated apple juice imports in 2021 were Vietnam (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and Thailand (X tons), together finishing at 75% of total import. Malaysia (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 9% share, followed by Indonesia (6.9%) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (5.3%).
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Lao People's Democratic Republic (with a CAGR of +15.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest concentrated apple juice importing markets in South-Eastern Asia were Vietnam ($X), Singapore ($X) and Thailand ($X), with a combined 57% share of total imports.
Vietnam, with a CAGR of +12.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 12% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 16% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per ton), while Lao People's Democratic Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+1.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
