Concentrated Orange Juice Market Size in South-Eastern Asia
In 2021, the Southeast Asian concentrated orange juice market decreased by -6.7% to $X, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. The total consumption indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, consumption decreased by -16.0% against 2019 indices. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the market remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Concentrated Orange Juice Production in South-Eastern Asia
In value terms, concentrated orange juice production totaled $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 62%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, production remained at a lower figure.

Exports in South-Eastern Asia
In 2021, shipments abroad of concentrated orange juice was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 36% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, concentrated orange juice exports expanded remarkably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 29% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Thailand dominates exports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 80% of total exports in 2021. Malaysia (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Singapore (X tons). All these countries together took near 12% share of total exports. The Philippines (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Thailand experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of concentrated orange juice. At the same time, Vietnam (+5.7%) and the Philippines (+4.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +5.7% from 2012-2021. Singapore experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Indonesia (-1.2%) and Malaysia (-9.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Thailand increased by +4 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Thailand ($X) remains the largest concentrated orange juice supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 74% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with an 8.8% share of total exports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 6.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Thailand stood at -1.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Singapore (+2.5% per year) and Malaysia (-12.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -7.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 27%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+2.9%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in South-Eastern Asia
For the fifth year in a row, South-Eastern Asia recorded decline in overseas purchases of concentrated orange juice, which decreased by -8.9% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports showed a perceptible setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, concentrated orange juice imports declined to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Indonesia (X tons), distantly followed by Thailand (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Singapore (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Myanmar (X tons) and Cambodia (X tons) represented the largest importers of concentrated orange juice, together constituting 91% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Cambodia (with a CAGR of +6.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, the largest concentrated orange juice importing markets in South-Eastern Asia were Indonesia ($X), Thailand ($X) and Malaysia ($X), together accounting for 71% of total imports. These countries were followed by Singapore, the Philippines, Myanmar and Cambodia, which together accounted for a further 23%.
Among the main importing countries, Cambodia, with a CAGR of +1.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, almost unchanged from the previous year. In general, the import price showed a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the import price increased by 5.8% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per ton), while Cambodia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Myanmar (+1.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
