The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 45% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, concentrated pineapple juice exports stood at $X in 2022. Total exports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +61.4% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 39%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 73% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, concentrated pineapple juice imports contracted modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed slight growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 72%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Singapore represented the key importing country with an import of around X tons, which reached 59% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Brunei Darussalam (X tons), together committing a 33% share of total imports. Myanmar (X tons) and Cambodia (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.

Imports into Singapore increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Myanmar (+16.9%), Vietnam (+9.7%), the Philippines (+6.3%) and Brunei Darussalam (+4.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Myanmar emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +16.9% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Cambodia (-3.2%) and Malaysia (-4.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines and Myanmar increased by +16, +7.7, +3.4 and +2.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Singapore ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported concentrated pineapple juice in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Philippines ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Vietnam, with a 14% share.

In Singapore, concentrated pineapple juice imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Philippines (+10.4% per year) and Vietnam (+15.5% per year).

In 2022, the import price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, growing by 9.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the import price increased by 16% against the previous year.
