Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, unsweetened condensed and evaporated milk imports rose markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 104%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

While the share of Malaysia (+25 p.p.), Indonesia (+12 p.p.), Thailand (+6.1 p.p.), Vietnam (+4.7 p.p.) and Singapore (+2.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of the Philippines (-10.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The second position in the ranking was taken by Indonesia ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 14% share.

In Malaysia, unsweetened condensed and evaporated milk imports increased at an average annual rate of +12.6% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Indonesia (+22.2% per year) and Singapore (-3.7% per year).
