The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -35.0% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 34%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X cubic meters. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, coniferous wood in the rough exports declined to $X in 2022. Overall, exports enjoyed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 51%. Over the period under review, the coniferous wood in rough exports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Exports by Country
Lao People's Democratic Republic prevails in exports structure, finishing at X cubic meters, which was approx. 92% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Singapore (X cubic meters), creating a 5.1% share of total exports. Indonesia (X cubic meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to coniferous wood in the rough exports from Lao People's Democratic Republic stood at +21.8%. At the same time, Singapore (+49.5%) and Indonesia (+17.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Singapore emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +49.5% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Lao People's Democratic Republic and Singapore increased by +78 and +5 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In Lao People's Democratic Republic, coniferous wood in the rough exports increased at an average annual rate of +40.5% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Singapore (+46.5% per year) and Indonesia (+0.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per cubic meter in 2022, shrinking by -10.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the export price increased by 27%. The level of export peaked at $X per cubic meter in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lao People's Democratic Republic ($X per cubic meter), while Indonesia ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lao People's Democratic Republic (+15.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in South-Eastern Asia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of coniferous wood in the rough increased by 3.7% to X cubic meters for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, coniferous wood in rough imports hit record highs at X cubic meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, coniferous wood in the rough imports reached $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 49%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Vietnam was the largest importer of coniferous wood in the rough in South-Eastern Asia, with the volume of imports reaching X cubic meters, which was approx. 85% of total imports in 2022. Singapore (X cubic meters) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Indonesia (X cubic meters). All these countries together took near 15% share of total imports.
Vietnam was also the fastest-growing in terms of the coniferous wood in the rough imports, with a CAGR of -10.8% from 2012 to 2022. Indonesia (-16.8%) and Singapore (-18.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Vietnam (+41 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Singapore (-2.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Vietnam ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported coniferous wood in the rough in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 85% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 7.5% share of total imports.
In Vietnam, coniferous wood in the rough imports shrank by an average annual rate of -6.8% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Singapore (-10.5% per year) and Indonesia (-6.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per cubic meter, with a decrease of -2.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 68% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per cubic meter in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per cubic meter), while Singapore ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+12.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
