The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 60% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. By contrast, Indonesia (-4.4%), Malaysia (-4.5%) and Singapore (-9.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Vietnam (+5.7 p.p.) and the Philippines (+5.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Singapore and Thailand saw its share reduced by -4.9% and -6.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Thailand ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported cylinders for calendering in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Indonesia, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Thailand amounted to -4.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Malaysia (-1.8% per year) and Indonesia (+2.5% per year).
