Moreover, the Philippines emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +111.1% from 2012-2021. Malaysia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Singapore (-6.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of the Philippines and Vietnam increased by +21 and +17 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the Philippines ($X) emerged as the largest dental drill engine supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 41% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Vietnam ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 17% share.

In the Philippines, dental drill engine exports expanded at an average annual rate of +73.7% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Vietnam (+49.1% per year) and Thailand (-15.1% per year).

From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Import price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, dental drill engine import price increased by +74.6% against 2013 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the import price increased by 28%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
