The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 162% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, diphosphorus pentaoxide exports declined modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a measured expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 346%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. In 2022, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 1.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 120% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per ton), while Vietnam ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of diphosphorus pentaoxide, when their volume decreased by -41% to X tons. In general, imports, however, saw a modest increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 130% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, diphosphorus pentaoxide imports shrank significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 206% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Moreover, Brunei Darussalam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +93.8% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Thailand (-4.4%), Lao People's Democratic Republic (-5.5%) and Singapore (-12.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Indonesia (+39 p.p.), Malaysia (+12 p.p.) and Brunei Darussalam (+9.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Lao People's Democratic Republic, Thailand and Singapore saw its share reduced by -3%, -4.8% and -50.6% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Indonesia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported diphosphorus pentaoxide in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 23% share of total imports. It was followed by Brunei Darussalam, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Indonesia stood at +21.1%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (-2.3% per year) and Brunei Darussalam (+67.8% per year).

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
