In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in the Southeast Asian food mixer market, when its value decreased by -5.1% to $X. Overall, consumption showed a strong increase. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, food mixer production stood at $X in 2022 estimated in export price. The total production indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, production decreased by -2.0% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the production volume increased by 54%. In 2022, overseas shipments of domestic food grinders and mixers and fruit or vegetable juice extractors decreased by -22.3% to X units, falling for the fifth year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports recorded a perceptible curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

By contrast, Singapore (-11.3%) and Indonesia (-17.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Malaysia (+15 p.p.), the Philippines (+5.2 p.p.) and Thailand (+5.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Indonesia (-9.3 p.p.) and Singapore (-17.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Malaysia ($X) remains the largest food mixer supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 69% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Singapore ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 5.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Malaysia was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Singapore (-10.6% per year) and Thailand (+8.2% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per unit, leveling off at the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 10%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Overall, imports, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 44%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then declined slightly in the following year.

In value terms, food mixer imports shrank to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +85.8% against 2012 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

In 2022, Thailand (X units), distantly followed by Malaysia (X units), Indonesia (X units), Vietnam (X units), the Philippines (X units) and Singapore (X units) represented the major importers of domestic food grinders and mixers and fruit or vegetable juice extractors, together creating 98% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Thailand (with a CAGR of +16.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
