Vietnam represented the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which recorded 64% of total exports. Indonesia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 17% share, followed by Thailand (9.7%). The following exporters - Singapore (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) - each reached an 8.3% share of total exports.
Exports from Vietnam increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Thailand (+8.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +8.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Indonesia (-8.7%), Malaysia (-16.5%) and Singapore (-17.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Vietnam (+26 p.p.) and Thailand (+6.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Malaysia (-10 p.p.), Indonesia (-10.2 p.p.) and Singapore (-12.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Vietnam ($X), Thailand ($X) and Indonesia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together comprising 93% of total exports.
Thailand, with a CAGR of +26.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 21% against the previous year. Export price indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, export price for domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances increased by +74.9% against 2012 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 24% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 25%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, imports of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances surged to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +14.5% against 2018 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, the Philippines (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) represented the main importers of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances in South-Eastern Asia, together finishing at near 54% of total imports. Thailand (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 12% share, followed by Singapore (12%), Indonesia (7.8%) and Vietnam (6.5%). Myanmar (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Myanmar (with a CAGR of +14.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import price indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, import price for domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances increased by +92.4% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 25%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
