In value terms, Thailand ($X) remains the largest driving and non-driving axle supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 56% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Indonesia ($X), with a 24% share of total exports. It was followed by the Philippines, with a 13% share.
In Thailand, driving and non-driving axle exports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Indonesia (+5.2% per year) and the Philippines (+282.4% per year).

In 2021, overseas purchases of drive-axles with differential and non-driving axles were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In terms of the main importing countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +5.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, approximately reflecting the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 13% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
