In 2022, evaporated and condensed milk exports in South-Eastern Asia rose modestly to X tons, increasing by 3.2% compared with 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, evaporated and condensed milk exports reached $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Malaysia ($X) remains the largest evaporated and condensed milk supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 70% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with an 8.3% share.

In Malaysia, evaporated and condensed milk exports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Vietnam (+18.1% per year) and Thailand (-6.5% per year).

Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 66% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, evaporated and condensed milk imports expanded slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a noticeable shrinkage. Cambodia, with a CAGR of +13.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
